A few customer comments...
The name Lavender derives from the Latin word - lavare - to wash oneself. The medical men of antiquity prescribed this flower against the plague and other kinds of pestilence. A thousand years ago it was brought by monks to the northern parts of Europe. The dried flowers are still used in folk medicine as a relaxant and diuretic and it is also used against diarrhea. In herbal medicine it is used in different forms i.e. as a tea, essence, pulver, in bath salts a.s.o. It is used against throat infections, cough, asthma, rheumatism, bronchitis, fatigue, stomach problems and sleeplessness.

From the flower you can also make a tea against headaches, nervousness, bloatedness, gases, dizziness and bad breath. A facial wash from lavender flowers stimulates cell growth and helps against acne
As you can see, today's predominant use in the perfume industry is but a start to the uses of this blessed herb!
Lavender 'Dutch' or 'Dutch Mill'
Mid-blue flowers top this 2.5 - 3 foot lavender, best of all for drying, since the colors do not fade.  Good oil content and fragrance. This plant is a favorite lavender for bouquets, and dried bundles, the flower heads are large and free forming, making them very striking in vases.

This plant came from British plant breeder David Tristram of Walberton Nursery in West Sussex, England. The flowers of this lavender are not recommended for human consumption.  A great addition to the collectors garden.

Lavenders are usually planted in large clumps of one variety, where their soft shade and cool, subtle foliage provide quiet dignity through the summer. In one of our trials, we discovered that a perfectly delightful effect can be had by combining several varieties whose disparate heights, colors, and forms flow together to produce a garden that is fragrant, interesting and informal, but very definitely Lavender. Of course, there is no 'right' way to combine them. One plant each of 5 hardy and fragrant varieties of our choice.  We are certain that you will love our choices! Will cover 20 sq. ft. Pot-grown.
Plants are in 4" pots and are 4-8" tall and 3-5" wide, they are not just recently rooted cuttings as some others sell!  They are healthy and growing well and ready to be planted.  I know you will be pleased with these plants!

Zones 5-10, flrs may-aug, ht. 12-36" 5 different varieties.  You may request varieties but we reserve the right to substitute where necessary.

Lavender angustifolia 'Hidcote Blue'
The Richest, Deepest Purple Blooms!
Never spreads more than 18 inches wide!

Lavender angustifolia is one of the richest in essential oils, meaning more fragrance power both fresh and dried. And this 'Hidcote Blue' cultivar has a more erect, compact habit and darker flowers, so its perfect for hedges. Fresh flowers can be crystallized and used in candies and cakes; dried flowers are used in potpourris and sachets; oils are used in creams and perfumes. And these are only some of the more common uses - imagination can create endless more!

An evergreen perennial, Lavender 'Hidcote Blue' has a subtle blue-green coloring and sweet fragrance. Reaching 12 to 18 inches high and 12 inches wide, it boasts 2 1/2 inch, linear, downy leaves on strong stems. The leaves first open white, then turn a pale gray-blue-green color. Stalks of the deepest purple flowers grow up to 14 inches tall.

Grow in a well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil in an open, sunny spot. Trim back in spring to encourage bushier growth; also deadhead after flowering.
